MUS 150
For this work, I considered the intensity, yet peacefulness of this picture. I used an Ostinato pattern that included running 8th notes that went along with my Greensleeves melody. For my piece, I really tried to incorporate the tensness of both sides. The officers in full uniform with shields and weapons, and the other side, the victims. The first portion of my piece represents both sides, as they are. It gets somewhat quiet (except for my ostinato and piano) for a few seconds representing the peaceful woman walking forward toward them. It then gets more and more chaotic as the police advance toward her, with the intention of pushing her away or harming her. It then gets quiet again, this represents the moments before the interaction. The woman sticking her hand out to them. The final musical aspect is the holding of the hands of both sides. The woman's dress flying around in the breeze while trying to make peace with these officers.
For this project I used GarageBand. It was relatively easy to create the entire piece, I really didn't struggle much at all, which was great. I did, however, have a major problem trying to export it to Weebly. After a few consecutive days of googling, I finally figured it out! Music Technology is an awesome thing. I really fell in love with this software while creating this. It made me want to experiment and make more of these awesome loops and sounds. Comments are closed.
